To visit a site click on the name. Alexandra Andrews maintains the best set of links to cancer information available on the web that I have ever seen. You could get dizzy scrolling through this plethora of sites! I suspect that if you cannot find a link here on a cancer related topic, it probably doesn't exist. She also does the webmastering for Cancer Supportive Care which has a wealth of information on things necessary to know if you are undergoing cancer treatment, and regularly adds new pages on additional topics. As if this weren't enough she is also involved with fellow lister Pete Bevin as webmaster for the Cancerlynx site. Check her sites, you won't regret it! Pete Bevin has created an alternate archive for the BC List. It starts waaay back in 1995 and runs to the present. It is organized by month, and clicking on a month produces the titles of every message for that month. You can then choose to reorganize them by author, subject, thread or date. Clicking a message replaces the list with the message. Since you probably really don't want to reload the list, try to remember to click and continue to hold down the mouse button over the message you want, then select "Open Link in New Window." Close the new window after reading the message and you are back to your month's list of messages. John Bonine has a "best of the Web" list of links, arranged by topic, and also includes a lot of information on Radiation Therapy for BC. Suzanne Bria tells her story. She also has a collection of Breast Cancer Songs created by BC List members, BC links, and a whole lot of nifty pictures of her beautiful dogs. Joane Cardinal-Schubert has an art site. See her in her studio! See samples of her work and some information about her life as an artist. She even has some "...." and a "(smile)", so you'll know whose place it is. It is one GIGANTIC page, so it is a bit of a download even on broadband. Bonnie Davidson is joined the BC List in March 2000. Her web site has her story, and the stories (plus pictures) of many other "breast friends." There's tons of other information too, including news stories, treatment options, a section on lymphedema, and more. Not only that, the site is nice looking, too. Diana DeMille maintains a web site with links to the work of women artists with BC. She also has sections on "Relationships and Cancer" (including pets), cancer news and surveys, and belly dancing. I tried to find a picture of her belly dancing, but couldn't seem to get there. Sydney Farber, ambitious soul that she is, keeps several sites going, focusing especially on Male Breast Cancer. The site her name is linked to has about 40 links to other BC sites, especially those concerned with male BC. Also check out her Community web site. Susan Frisius maintains a site with the "Faces of Breast Cancer Gallery" containing many, many photos of BC Listers and others with a BC diagnosis, along with brief medical histories, has the BCforum chat room (with software available to download), general information on BC, and on the BC List, and a link to Amazon.com which, if you order your books here, will result in a donation to help those with BC meet each other. Gaelyne Gasson not only has her own site, but her own domain name too. In keeping with obvious expertise her site is quite wonderful. She has information about her BC experiences (including photographs of such things as disappearing hair), and links to other BC sites. There's also photos of her travels "down under." Heather Gilbert is active in the Breast Cancer Survivors Foundation, which provides various kinds of help, including financial, for those breast cancer patients who need it. This is their web site. Virginia Hetrick maintains her own health site, which also includes updated versions of the BC List Abbreviations and of the Medications List. She welcomes updates and suggestions to both lists. She also has a site about her educational work for college archaelogy programs. Debbie Linko has her own site with some information about herself, but she really features her pets, especially her ferrets. Her site plays music, has animations, and lots of pictures. Musa Mayer didn't actually have anything to do with building this site, but this page has a link to information about her book, Advanced Breast Cancer: A Guide to Living With Metastatic Disease. The page also has other resources for those with metastatic breast cancer. Nancy O Miller has put up a page devoted to BC List Pets. That's the furred and feathered kind of pet, in case you're wondering. Lots of photos! Ginny Mitchell wants you all to know about the Sistership Dragon Boat Team. If you visit you will learn all about dragon boats. There is a giant picture of their team, and links to bc resources on the web, with a special emphasis on things Canadian. Lloyd Multhauf maintains the Official Breast Cancer List web site. Among other important items is an automatic form for communicating with the Listserve. Bookmark this one! Judy Niedzwiedz maintains a site for Cancer Survivors On Line, which has cancer information, resources, and support. Maureen Oxley has TheBCMall web site. If you can't imagine what that would be the only thing to do is visit. Susan Pinedo, proud grandmother that she is, decided to share her grandaughter with the world. Click on the thumbnail for a full-size picture of the adorable heir. She also includes a link to the the BCList.org web site. Jane Reid has put up some of her pictures of BC Lister gatherings. Francine Schwieder displays her digital art work. It's all a little bit weird, so be prepared. Also has a collection of personal photographs, some altered a bit (HAH! you'ld think she was afflicted with British Understatement Syndrome to say such a thing) with Photoshop. Jim Till maintains a list of breast cancer related links, including a link to a faculty page with his picture, and to his research work. |
